  • slow down the aging of the skin on your body
  • use pure, organic skin care products
  • avoid conditions that may contribute to irritating and aging skin

How can I take care of the skin on my body?

Somehow the skin on your body does not receive the same anti aging attention as the skin on your face.

However, the 7 free radical activating culprits that contribute to the aging of your skin we talked about earlier, age your body as well as your face. Your body maybe a little less, as it is often protected by clothing, so is not exposed to those nasties quite as readily.

Discover how you can keep your skin healthy and smooth to the touch, by knowing how the 5 main elements contribute to healthy body skin.

  • water
  • cleansing
  • exfoliating
  • moisturizing
  • deodorize

Treat your skin to the best care, with the cleanest products and feel good in your skin.

Step 1 - Your Bath/Shower water

A long warm bath in the evening is a wonderful place to relax, especially after a stressful, hectic day. Whereas a shower is often a quick way to refresh before going to your next task.

Either a bath or a shower serves as a great place to start your anti aging body care and give your skin the attention it deserves.

Lets begin by talking about the water you are using to cleanse your body.

Do you know that your skin absorbs the water from your shower or bath?

Do you also know that a hot shower often produces steam that turns many of the chemicals in the water, washing over your skin, into poisonous gas.

If you have noticed that after a hot shower or hot bath, you do not feel just right. The reason may be you are inhaling those gases.

Toxins are aging! Reducing those toxins from your water is beneficial to your health. Replacing your shower head with a shower filter is the most beneficial way to reduce those toxins in your shower or you may decide to install a whole home filtration system.

Showering or bathing in lukewarm water, instead of hot water, also helps to reduce some of those toxins.

Step 2 - Cleanse using Body Wash

A pure Certified Organic Body Wash leaves your skin feeling and smelling so fresh. It does not leave a greasy feeling, clog your pores nor dry your skin.

To cleanse using a natural sea sponge.

Gather a clean soft bath sheet, a natural sea sponge and body wash

Whether you are in the bath or shower:

  • apply a small amount of body wash on your sponge
  • lather your body gently.
  • rub lightly where your lymph nodes are concentrated; the armpits, groin and behind the knees. This stimulates the circulation in these areas.

The mildness of a pure body wash with the moisturizing protection of cold pressed sunflower, protects your skin from being stripped of its natural body oils. Harsher soaps or body washes can leave your skin feeling dry and irritated.

Regularly, use only your hands to wash your body was advice that I received from my dermatologist several years ago. The reasoning behind this suggestion was to ensure that I became immediately aware of any body changes that may require further investigation.

To cleanse using only your hands.

Step away from the flow of water in your shower
or
Stand up in your bath

  • Place a good sized dollop of body wash in the cup of your hand
  • Rub your hands together and lather all over your body
  • Rinse off the body wash
  • Pay particular attention to any bumps, lumps or changes in texture that you may discover.

Step 3 - Exfoliate Gently

Exfoliating with a Certified Organic Cleansing Bar helps provide additional anti aging body care. Exfoliation removes the old dried-up skin cells and exposes the fresh, new and healthier skin cells on the surface of your skin.

Anti Aging your body by exfoliating, during your shower is very beneficial to your skin. It makes it easier for the skin to absorb moisture, gets rid of flakiness and relieves itchiness. By removing the surface debris, the texture of your skin is smoother and silky to the touch.

If your skin is oily or your have combination skin, use an exfoliant four or five times per week, however if your skin is dry or sensitive, once or twice a week will be enough to slough off those old cells.

Simply slip a pure and Certified Organic Cleansing Bar into a natural sisal draw string bag and gently rub over your body beginning with the bottom of your feet and work up towards your heart. Put a little extra time on your heels, elbows and knees.

Do stop before your neck as a cleansing bar is not recommended for your neck or face due to the alkaline PH.

Exfoliate in the shower, exposing the new skin cells, then step into your bath and let your skin absorb the moisture. Fabulous!

Step 4 - Moisturize with Body Cream

Certified Organic Body Cream is intended to protect, nourish and revitalize your skin.
The ideal time to apply your moisturizer is immediately after a bath or shower, when your skin is still damp.

Applying a body cream, at this time, traps the moisture on your skin and
retains hydration.

A top certified organic body cream contains a blend of geranium, patchouli with organic shea butter and a concentrated blend of organic avocado and safflower oils, phospholipids, vitamins and antioxidants.

Perfect for restoring and retaining skin moisture, Certified Organic Body Cream actively promotes elasticity and suppleness.

Apply moisturizer liberally to your elbows, knees and heels. It is a
perfect way to keep them looking ageless.

Step 5 - Finish with Deodorant

When you have completed your bath/shower, exfoliate and moisturize routine, is a good time to apply Certified Organic Deodorant. This gives it time to dry prior to getting dressed.

Whether you choose lightly scented or no scent at all is a personal choice.

The ingredients that are in the deodorant that you are applying to your skin is worth noting. You may be smoothing your deodorant in the areas of your lymph nodes and using only clean, pure ingredients is absolutely essential.

It is important to avoid aluminium compounds or chemical antiperspirants in your deodorant.
